Although we can’t get together in person this year, the British Columbia Construction Roundtable is excited to host a fun and creative way to connect virtually. This year’s festive event includes a virtual distillery tour and tasting with our friends at MadLab Distilling, followed by small interactive break-out room social sessions.

Join us on December 17th, for our 2020 Festive Virtual Social and Live Distillery Tour with Ahmet Ulker and Scott Thompson from MadLab Distilling. During the live distillery tour, you will be walked through the distilling process and be able enjoy the local spirits throughout the event. Following the tour and tasting, we will split off into break-out rooms to mingle and connect with new and old friends.

Registration for this event will include an entry into the prize raffle and a festive event package that includes spirits and snacks made at the distillery to be enjoyed during the event. To ensure registrants remain safe, home delivery two days before the event is included in the ticket cost. Proof of legal age 19+ is required upon delivery. Winners of the prize raffle will be announced towards the end of the night.

**Please note that participants who register after Sunday, 13 December will be required to pick up their packages at Mad Lab Distillery in Vancouver. Please contact Scott at scott@madlabdistilling.com.**

    Distillery Summary

Mad Laboratory Distilling is a local Vancouver micro distillery focusing on fine handcrafted spirits using more traditional techniques to produce some of the smoothest, and best tasting spirits around. All spirits are produced using 100% BC grown malted barley; milled, brewed, and distilled in house through a direct fire pot still.

We will be tasting the following:

    • Vodka – premium triple distilled “sipping vodka” smooth with a light note of the underlying malt base
    • Gin6 – six botanical cucumber gin, light and crisp with bright and fresh botanical flavours
    • ULKERaki – Turkish style aniseed spirit, similar to Ouzo, but higher in alcohol and almost no sugar
    • Cocktail Series – TBD, we will select one of our premium, pre-mixed classic cocktail

Be prepared for a fun and interactive live virtual tour! Attendees will participate in rapid-fire small-group breakout sessions, so please be prepared to have your video and microphone on for this webinar.

    Speaker Biographies

    Ahmet Ulker

Met Ulker is a Professional Engineer who has recently retired from Construction Industry after working as an Electrical Consultant in Vancouver for the last 36 years. After retirement, to avoid a divorce, Met got into distillery business to keep busy, which meshes well with a weekend drinking hobby. Met does not discriminate among his drinks and respects all equally, however, Turkish Raki, and craft beer have a special place in his heart. Met became involved with Mad Laboratory as labourer, and while he is very capable of tasting, Scott’s expertise seems to fill the remaining void.

    Scott Thompson

Founder & Distiller at Mad Laboratory, the mad scientist himself, with years of distilling experience, and the same amount of time in the hospitality industry. Spending years working closely with all manner of hospitality, Scott has developed a substantial mass of knowledge with regards to pairing and the overall experience of food and drink. Using his experience and tons of elbow grease he was able to design and build a functioning distillery with tremendous quality spirits on a shoestring budget. Now producing award winning spirits, Scott will be spending his time growing the brand, developing new and creative products, and sharing with all who care about quality craft spirits.
