Join leaders in construction to tackle one of our industry's toughest workforce challenges - attracting and retaining talent with a special focus on women. Across the sector, from skilled trades to senior leadership, keeping women engaged and advancing in their careers remains one of construction's persistent concerns. Help the BC Construction Roundtable in developing a plan for how we tackle this challenge. Participant perspectives and opinions will be included in the BCCR's upcoming White Paper on how we can collectively retain and strengthen industry capacity in BC.

Table moderators guiding conversations include:

  • Fiona Cochrane – Infrastructure BC (owner)
  • Katie Au – BBA (consultant)
  • Olga Morozova – FlatironDragados (contractor)
  • Janice Qian – Kiewit (contractor)
  • Anna Lary – BCIT (post secondary and training)
  • Wendy Itagawa – Transportation Investment Corporation (owner)
  • Shezana Hasko – TransLink (owner)
  • Benisa Sham – AtkinsRéalis (consultant)
  • Tatiana Rozvadovska – Deloitte (advisor)
  • Vanessa Werden – JML (legal)
  • Madeline Kozak - BC Infrastructure Benefits
  • Meena Venkataraman, Port of Vancouver (owner)

This session is designed to support learning and dialogue among owners, consultants, general contractors, and other industry participants. Attendees will take part in small table discussions, providing insights and perspectives to help inform the conversation.

Each table will have a facilitator and recorder to guide and support the dialogue. Discussion themes and key insights will be documented and consolidated into a white paper, which will be shared with attendees and BCCR members following the event.

Thank you, Gowling WLG and Norland, for your generous sponsorship of this event!

As always, BCCR creates space for open, practical dialogue across owners, contractors, and consultants—focused on what’s working, what’s challenging, and where we can improve how projects are delivered.
