November Breakfast Session - Metro Vancouver Major Projects Update

On November 21, the BCCR is pleased to welcome Cheryl Nelms, General Manager of Project Delivery at Metro Vancouver. Attendees will gain valuable insights into Metro Vancouver’s major project portfolio, their approach to contracting and collaborative delivery, and future plans for regional infrastructure.

Metro Vancouver provides essential services—water, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, air quality regulation, regional parks, and affordable housing—to over 2.8 million residents across 21 municipalities, one electoral area, and one treaty First Nation.

Presenter

Cheryl Nelms is the General Manager of Project Delivery at Metro Vancouver, where she leads a $20 billion capital program. A former Director of the British Columbia Construction Roundtable (BCCR), Cheryl brings over 20 years of experience in delivering multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects, public-private partnerships, and managing utility operations at various government levels. As a professional engineer with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Cheryl is deeply committed to advancing diversity in the industry and mentoring the next generation of professionals. For over 10 years, she has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, where she teaches Project Management.
