We invite you to join us on Thursday, April 11th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for this year's first BCCR - ELG Speakers Series event. 

What you can expect from this event:

  • How to Grow Your Personal Brand through Networking and Social Media

This session will bring together Emerging Leaders (those with ~8 - 20 years of experience in the construction industry) for an in-person evening of networking and inspiration. You will get an opportunity to learn from a panel of Vancouver's most influential construction and professional leaders and exclusive access to meet them during the networking.

The Speaker Series event will feature an introductory discussion with our panel of speakers, followed by a speed networking session for all attendees. The session will conclude with informal networking.

About the Emerging Leaders Group: The ELG targets intermediate professionals in the BC Construction Industry (~8 - 20 years' experience). Our members are consultants, contractors and owners involved in some of the most prominent projects in our region. Speakers

Caroline Andrewes, P.Eng, CPA, CMA, is the President of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - British Columbia (ACEC-BC). A registered Professional Engineer and Chartered Professional Accountant, she is a Past President of Engineers & Geoscientists BC. She has broad experience across industries and organizations, including start-ups, not-for-profits, and multinational public companies. Caroline lives in Vancouver and loves to trail run, ride bikes, ski, say hello to dogs, and cook.

Will Pauga is the President of Southwest Contracting and Past Chair of VRCA. He has worked in construction as a General Superintendent, Project Coordinator, and Project Manager. In 2006, he began working at Southwest Contracting Ltd as a Project Manager of the Special Projects Division. In 2014, he and his partners took over the company. As the President of SWC, Will expanded his involvement in advocating for the Trade Contractor Division as the Division Chair at the Vancouver Regional Construction Association. He has also served on the Board of Directors and the Executive of the VRCA and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors at VRCA. He brings a vast array of experience from the trenches to the boardroom.

Sany Zein is the President and General Manager of the British Columbia Rapid Transit Company (BCRTC). He leads the operations, maintenance, and expansion readiness of the Vancouver region’s SkyTrain system (the Expo, Millennium Lines, and the Canada Line contracted service) and West Coast Express. Sany is a Professional Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Canada with more than 30 years of professional and leadership experience in the public and private sectors.

Moderator

Erica Commons is the Risk and Compliance Manager at BC Infrastructure Benefits (BCIB) and a student in UBC’s Organizational Coaching Program. Erica uses organizational coaching to influence positive employee engagement, culture, and performance in workplaces and organizations. She is also a Board Director for Canadian Construction Women and volunteers with the Vancouver Regional Construction Association, the BC Construction Roundtable, and the Loran Scholars Foundation.
