June Breakfast Session - BC Hydro’s 10 Year Project Delivery Plan

On Thursday, June 22nd, the British Columbia Construction Roundtable will host a presentation on BC Hydro’s 10 Year Project Delivery Plan. 

BC Hydro has the important responsibility of keeping electricity rates affordable for our customers and funding necessary investments in our system to ensure British Columbians continue to receive reliable and clean electricity and to help advance the province's CleanBC climate and economic development objectives by encouraging our customers to use our reliable and clean electricity to power their homes, vehicles and businesses to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. BC Hydro has a big work plan to deliver. 

Strengthening engagement with our suppliers and contractors is key to supporting BC Hydro's goals and priorities. Graham and Brian will offer an overview of BC Hydro's 10-year work plan. The plan will provide insight into programs and projects underway and those considered for the future as updates on key policies and initiatives.

Presenters include:

Graham Fenwick has worked for BC Hydro for over 33 years. He is the Director of Capital Construction, leading a team of approximately 300  professionals responsible for delivering the BC Hydro capital construction program safely, on time and on budget. This capital construction program consists of several hundred generations of transmission and substation construction projects at a time.   Graham holds a Diploma in Engineering Technology, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering, a Master of Structural Engineering, a Project Management Professional and a Contract & Commercial Management Advanced Practitioner.    

Brian Wong, P.Eng., PMP, is the Director of the Infrastructure Projects Supply Chain at BC Hydro and is responsible for procurement on Generation, Transmission and Distribution capital projects, indigenous procurement and corporate purchasing. Since joining BC Hydro in 2003, Brian has been in various roles, including Design Engineer, Project Manager and Supply Chain Manager before his current position. Brian holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from UBC and is a registered Professional Engineer with EGBC and a Project Management Professional with PMI.
