The Obscure World of Construction Insurance: Finding Your Way Through Murky Waters

Registration Closed

Have you ever had tried to read a construction insurance policy or have you ever made a claim only to find yourself in a world of denials, exclusions, rights reservations, eventually giving up. Our two panelists are experts in understanding, triggering and capitalizing on construction insurance. Stacey Boothman is in-house counsel for the Ledcor Group. In private practice Stacey worked for insurance clients. Last year, Ledcor was successful before the Supreme Court of Canada in pursuing a claim against its insurer Northbridge Indemnity, in circumstances where most observers would have said the odds were stacked against them. Richard Beal Jr. is a senior partner with the Seattle law firm of Ashbaugh Beal. Richard started his career working for insurance companies. This gave him a rare insight into and understanding of the world of insurance. Eventually he turned to the dark side, developing a unique practice specializing in assisting contractors to successfully navigate insurance claims. Richard and Stacey will share with you experiences and practical tips and make insurance actually sound interesting.
