2020 Annual General Meeting

The Board of Directors of the BC Construction Roundtable is pleased to announce that the Annual General Meeting will take place May 14, 2020 via Zoom and that the event will feature a presentation about The Builders Code with guest speakers Diane Bourrett and Rishi Sharma.

The Builders Code (www.builderscode.ca) is an industry led initiative being spearheaded by the BC Construction Association. The program’s intent is to set a standard code of conduct for workers on construction sites in BC – an “Acceptable Worksite”. It will reduce risk and ensure a safe and productive worksite culture but also help construction employers, managers and crew communicate reasonable, consistent behavior expectations helping to improve the retention and recruitment of skilled tradespeople. There are several no-cost resources available to employers and a new webinar training session that includes discussions on COVID-19 related issues/opportunities to be offered to companies and their respective teams during this extraordinary time. The BC and Federal governments have championed this project and offered initial funding support and there are municipalities that have shown interest in amalgamating the Builders Code into their policies and procedures.

This will be a co-presentation led by Diane Bourrett with support from Rishi Sharma.
